Project Deathstar

// December 12th, 2006 // General

Design for Project DeathstarProject Deathstar began as a bit of fun over at Subdreamer.org.

The project planned to be a collaboration between a few of us, who are pretty loyal Star Wars fans, ok ok, I man nerds.

Well, the project has had the dust blown off, and i am nearly at the end of the design phase, with the template already half built.

Designed to show the “Dark” and “Light” side of the force, the driving feature is the javascript styleswitcher, allowiung the user to skin the site via changing the cascading style sheet.

The users choice is saved as acookie, so each page that loads remembers their choice.

The site design is coming along really nicely, with the Dark Side design close to being the first one off the ranks. Once complete, the Light Side will get the same treatment.

the templates will be xhtml com,pliant, using

tags for structure, and all CSS will be compliant. it will also feature the new unordered list menu.

It is hoped that this design will be lightweight, fun and compliant, and I also plan to add a few little tricks to the skin.

It is a work in progress and will be available from this website and Subdreamer.org for download free when complete, so stay tuned!
